Telangana HC Reserves Orders on PILs Challenging Land Allocation to IAMC

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday reserved orders in PILs filed challenging the decision of the state government in allocating 3.7 acres of land at Raidurg to the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre ( IAMC) Trust.

A division bench comprising Justice K. Lakshman and Justice Sujana Kalasikam heard the contentions of the state government, the IAMC and the petitioners before reserving orders.

During the hearing, the court questioned one of the petitioner’s bonafides and why he did not challenge the government’s decision in auctioning thousands of acres of land and allocating it to some persons. The petitioner submitted that the IAMC was a private trust and that the government land at a prime location was allocated and that financial aid was given to the trust.

Senior counsel Desai Prakash Reddy, representing the IAMC, submitted that the trust consisted of the Chief Justice of the High Court and judges of the Supreme Court and the state law minister.
