Telangana HC Seeks Reply on Farmers’ Plea on Pharma City
Hyderabad:Justice K. Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday asked for the contentions of the Chief Commissioner of Land Affairs, collector of the Rangareddy district and Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) in a petition alleging that the officials were creating impediments to farmers and landowners, whose land was situated in the proposed Pharma City at Medipally of Yacharam mandal in Rangareddy district.
The judge was dealing with a petition by 49 farmers who complained to the court that despite the High Court orders setting aside the notification issued for acquisition for their land for the proposed Pharma City, the authorities were not allowing them to enter their land details in the revenue records.
They also submitted to the court that the authorities were depriving them of access to agriculture input and credit support as well as full ownership rights for the land.
The judge directed government special counsel Adepu Divya to submit the contentions of the authorities by September 6.
