Nalgonda: Did a flock of hens in Nakrekal of Nalgonda district know something was up on Wednesday morning, minutes before the earthquake struck.
Sheik Raheem, a resident of Rehamathnagar in Nakrekal of Nalgonda, who raises hens and turkeys in his backyard, said there was a sudden commotion among the birds in the morning, with them behaving strangely.
“They appeared alarmed, clucking as they would when they see a snake. There was nothing that I could see that spooked them,” he said. “This happened just five minutes before the quake was felt.”
Raheem said the tremors were strong enough to rattle some items in a steel almirah in his house. The birds apparently calmed down after a while.
