Telangana largest producer of paddy in India: Uttam Kumar

Karimnagar: Telangana leads the country in paddy production with 153 lakh metric tonnes cultivated across 66.7 lakh acres, according to irrigation minister and in-charge of the united Karimnagar district, Uttam Kumar Reddy.

On Wednesday, Uttam Kumar, accompanied by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, attended a massive public meeting led by Government Chief Whip Aadi Srinivas at Gudicheruvu ground in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district.
Speaking at the event, Uttam Kumar expressed his happiness to visit the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple as the in-charge minister of the united Karimnagar district and participate in its development initiatives.
Highlighting the government's achievements, Uttam Kumar stated that the Congress government surpassed the expectations of BRS leaders by fulfilling poll promises, recruiting 50,000 youth within 11 months, and attracting significant investments to Telangana.
The state government has sanctioned Rs 400 crore for the Gouravelli project and ₹70 crore for the Kalikota Suramma project, with an additional Rs 30 crore allocated to expedite the Suramma project’s completion. Phase-I of the Yellampally Canal Stage-II works will soon supply irrigation water to 1.51 lakh acres, while Rs 170 crore has been allocated for pending works of the Yellampally Canal Network Package-II to irrigate 40,500 acres in Vemulawada and 2,500 acres in Korutla.
The government is also committed to completing the Kaleshwaram project under Packages 9, 10, and 11 in Sircilla, which will supply water to 1 lakh acres. Additionally, around 3 crore people will receive ration cards, and fine rice distribution will commence within two months, he added.
