Telangana: Minister Seethakka Briefs Governor on Jainoor Violence

Adilabad: Panchayat raj and rural development minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka and Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju on Tuesday met Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and briefed him about the violence in Jainoor following an attempt to rape, and the subsequent developments.

They apprised the Governor about the efforts being made by the state government to bring peace to the area.

Dr Seethakka requested the Governor to visit the tribal areas in Adilabad and Chenchu in Nagarkurnool to which he responded positively. She said the Governor considered adoption of a village in the district and they had sent him a list to choose from.

Elsewhere, government adviser Shabbir Ali, Seethakka, Vedma Bojju and MLC Dande Vittal and senior leader Venugopala Chary discussed with Muslim leaders the Jainoor incident and developments at the Secretariat in Hyderabad.

Minority leaders told the Congress leaders that some political parties and their leaders were trying to give a communal angle to the incident requested the authorities to increase the police presence to control the anti-social elements.

Shabbir Ali said they will conduct a joint meeting with leaders of both the communities to remove the misconceptions and then have a meeting with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Dr Seethakka also submitted a representation to the Governor seeking his approval of a bill which was passed in the Assembly pertaining to the conversion of Mulugu village panchayat into municipality.

The BRS government had passed the bill in the Assembly in 2022 to convert the Mulugu gram panchayat to the municipality. However, due to some technical problems, it was not converted into a municipality.
