Telangana Officials Condemn Attack on RDO Amid Ethanol Factory Protests

Hyderabad: The Telangana Deputy Collectors association and Tahsildars association on Wednesday condemned the attack on the Nirmal RDO Ratna Kalyani in Dilawarpur village of Nirmal district.

In separate statements, the Deputy Collectors Association President V Lachi Reddy said that Nirmal RDO Ratna Kalyani visited the Dilawarpur village on November 26 where some villagers were protesting against establishment of a private Ethanol factory at Dilawarpur.

On receiving the information that the protestors have blocked the National Highway adjacent to the village, she visited the place to enquire and to know the problems of agitators and so as to submit the report to the District Collector. But the agitated protesters did not allow her to step out of her car and detained her for almost six hours and they did not allow her to take a natural call, due to which she fell ill and fainted.
Meanwhile the police personnel who were present there were unable to control the situation, later with reinforcement they were able to rescue her. The association asked the police officials to maintain law and order to prevent such incidents.
Similarly, the Telangana Tahsildars association also condemned the incident. Recently, the villagers attacked Vikarabad Collector at Lagcharla. Such repeated attacks on Revenue officials, who visit villages to address and resolve issues, are deeply disturbing and unjustifiable," Telangana Tahsildars said.
