Nalgonda: Tension prevailed at the Telangana Minorities Welfare Residential School in SLBC on the outskirts of Nalgonda as parents staged a protest on Friday, alleging that the principal had physically assaulted students.
According to the protesting parents, 10 students were confined to a room and beaten by the school’s principal, K. Venugopal, three days ago as punishment for writing on the hostel room walls. The incident came to light only after the parents gathered at the school to voice their concerns.
Attempts to contact the principal for a response were unsuccessful. However, sources indicate that the students had allegedly written objectionable comments about teachers on the hostel walls, prompting the principal to take disciplinary action. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
