Telangana Plans Praja Palana Centres in Villages, Municipalities

Adilabad: The state government plans to set up 'Praja Palana Centres' in villages and municipalities to address grievances and applications from individuals whose names are missing in survey lists for welfare schemes launching on January 26. Officials at these centres will clarify applicants' doubts and ensure eligible beneficiaries are included.

Fresh instructions were issued to district collectors after reports revealed many eligible individuals were excluded from the survey lists prepared in villages and municipal wards. Gram sabhas and ward meetings will be held from January 21 to 24 to verify and finalise the lists, ensuring that the eligible poor benefit from the schemes.

Four welfare schemes Rythu Bharosa, Indira Rythu Athmeeya Bharosa, Indiramma Houses, and ration cards are being prioritised. Special teams will oversee their implementation. Ministers and chief secretary A. Santhi Kumari, in a video conference with collectors, emphasised that the survey and application process will remain continuous to accommodate all eligible individuals.

Nirmal additional collector Kishore Kumar noted that Rythu Bharosa benefits were stopped for 87 acres in Peddore village due to unsuitability for cultivation. Collectors and additional collectors are inspecting ongoing surveys and reviewing collected data.

A mechanism is being developed for officials to visit households of applicants missing from survey lists to cross-check their details and ensure inclusion.
