Telangana police nab 2 dreaded Pardhi gang members after opening fire at ORR

Hyderabad. A day after opening fire on them, the Telangana police on Saturday arrested two members of a dreaded Pardhi dacoit gang and seized equipment to be used for committing offences from them.

Interacting with media persons, Nalgonda Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar said the two arrested gang members have been identified as A Pandranga, 30, a labourer and Shubham Ashok, 30, a farmer, both natives of Maharashtra, while two other members - Kashmir Shashi Pal Bhosle, 32, Adhesk Anil Khale, 25, were absconding.

The gang was involved in 32 cases including a murder for gain that took place in Nalgonda. The gang was involved in half a dozen offences in Nalgonda, while 13 in Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, 11 in Sangareddy and 12 in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

Of the 32 offences, 10 were related to house burglaries, eight bike thefts, seven chain snatchings, six robbers and a murder for gain. A police team intercepted and chased the gang members while travelling in a four-wheeler at the service road at Hayathnagar near Outer Ring Road (ORR) on Friday morning.

When the police tried to nab them at the service road, two Pardhi gang members tried to attack them with screw drivers and scissors. In spite of asking them to surrender, the gang members did not relent and tried to escape.

To protect themselves, the police opened two rounds of fire with their service pistol and managed to nab them. A screwdriver, two scissors, a torch light, Rs.17,000 in cash and a pair of silver anklets were seized from them.

Pawar said the gang committed offences at Chityal, Narketpally, Kattangur, Rachakonda, Cyberabad and NH-65 in Sangareddy by attacking people with stones and boulders and escaping with gold, cash and other valuables from them.

Using a screwdriver, the gang killed a 32-year-old Rajavardhan hailing from Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh, brutally while sleeping in a mini goods vehicle at Kattangur in Nalgonda district and escaped with Rs.14,500 cash from him.
