Telangana Police working for welfare of people: DGP

KARIMNAGAR: The entire police system is working hard to maintain law and order and promote the welfare of the people, state Director General of Police,, has said.

The DGP was addressing a review meeting he held with the police brass of Karimnagar, Sircilla and Jagtial districts here on Tuesday.

Jitendar said that the police force was taking perfect steps in maintenance of traffic. “The Telangana Police is at the top in the country by keeping a close tab on illegal transport of sand and ganja, checking cybercrimes, and controlling the activities of the drug and land mafia through strict vigil. It is also preventing road accidents,” he said.

Several steps are being taken by the police force for spreading awareness among the people against drunk driving and in catching the vehicles that do not have number plates, he said.

The DGP said, “Very soon, the problem of shortage of staff in the police department will be resolved with police recruitment and some recruits are already undergoing training. The DSPs and inspectors in their respective circles should act strictly against the rowdy and history sheeters by constantly observing their movements."

Jitender said, “Cases must be investigated and solved with a scientific approach. We must produce perfect evidence. When cases are under trial, the DSPs also must visit the court and make sure that the main culprits are punished.”

Multizone-1 IGP Chandrasekhar Reddy, Karimnagar police commissioner Abhishek Mohanty, SPs of Sircilla Akhil Mahajan, Jagtial Ashok Kumar and ASPs, DSPs and inspectors were present.
