Telangana rains: Yellow warning issued for next two days

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department - Hyderabad (IMD-H) in a weather bulletin issued at 1000 hrs on September 4 had put the State on yellow alert for the next two days and forecasted heavy rains in eight districts including Adilabad, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Mahabubabad.

The seven day forecast of the Met department stated that the state will only witness light rains at few places from 6 to 8 this month, giving a brief respite from the downpours.
However, independent weather-predictor 'Balaji' said that Telangana is very likely to witness heavy rainfall over the coming five days due to a fresh Low Pressure Area (LPA).
Balaji, well known as Telangana Weatherman took to micro-blogging site 'X' to warn citizens and wrote "HEAVY RAIN ALERT - SEP 4-9 2024, Due to fresh LPA again POWERFUL RAINS expected in PINK marked areas. Big trouble is that this is the same area which got devastated by massive floods, again one more heavy rainfall event is ready to strike (slightly less than previous one, but still very heavy rain expected). Similarly Vijaywada too heavy - very heavy rains likely. Hyderabad and RED marked districts will get Moderate - Heavy rains next 5days, South TG will see Light - moderate rains. PLAN ACCORDINGLY, STAY ALERT."
"Asidabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Kothagudem, Khammam and Hanamkonda will be impacted the most with 'powerful rains'," he said with a map.
Meanwhile, heavy rain lashed Hyderabad on Tuesday night, the northern and eastern parts of the city including Alwal, Balanagar and Patancheru were the most affected. The intense downpours resulted in heavy flooding and other rain related issues like tree felling.
