Telangana Secures Rs 1.82 Lakh Cr Investments at WEF

HYDERABAD: IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu said that the investments received during the WEF summit in Davos this year at Rs 1.82 lakh crore, were four times higher than the previous year. He stated that Telangana had achieved record-breaking investments during the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy-led delegation's visit to Singapore and Davos last week.
Addressing a press conference in Secretariat on Tuesday, Sridhar Babu said the Congress government was focussed on creating employment opportunities and fostering economic growth. “We are moving towards achieving the goal of a $1 trillion economy. Our aim is to transform Hyderabad into a global hub for technical skills and a brand synonymous with business,” he said.
Sridhar Babu said state government has signed an agreement with Singapore to facilitate technical expertise and student exchange programmes for skill upgradation. The Singapore-based company will invest ₹450 crore to establish a state-of-the-art skill development centre. Agreements were signed with UBS and Multivac Group of Switzerland to bolster investments and create job opportunities, he said.
"Discussions were held with Singapore companies to explore the revival of the Musi River and other developmental projects," Sridhar Babu said.
The minister announced that Telangana had signed MoUs with a potential of creating 49,500 jobs during the visits to Singapore and Davos. These agreements complement the 1,850 jobs promised through ₹4,500 crore investments secured during discussions with industry leaders in Zurich.
"This is a testament to Telangana’s position as a leading investment destination, driven by a stable government and proactive policies,” he added.
