Telangana State to celebrate World Tribals Day on Aug. 9
Hyderabad: The World Indigenous Peoples Day — also called World Tribals Day — will be celebrated on August 9, honouring and recognising the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of indigenous communities globally. It also aims to recognize the challenges faced by Indigenous people, such as poverty and displacement, and increase public awareness and support for the indigenous community.
The tribal welfare department has organised programmes to showcase the rich culture and tradition of the tribes of Telangana. Ministers and senior officials, tribal leaders, cultural troupes, artists will be present at the event. The event will include cultural activities such as dances by different tribe communities, painting, arts & crafts, and more.
Cultural activities and exhibitions will be organised at the headquarters of the Integrated Tribal Development Agencies.
