Telangana State Women Commission Issues Directives for Responsible Content Creation and Influencing

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Commission for Women has issued new directives for social media creators for responsible content creation, here on Monday. The guidelines, according to the commission, are to ensure that social media content abided by legal standards, promoted safe conduct, and maintained social harmony while ensure that the freedom of expression was not curbed.

The directives stressed the importance of content that does not defame, incite violence, or harm the social fabric of the society. Misinformation, particularly conspiracy theories, should be avoided to maintain public trust, the guidelines read.

The guidelines called for sensitivity in content involving women, minors, and any type of assault. Content creators were urged to avoid promoting harmful stereotypes to respect the privacy and dignity of individuals.

The commission insisted that content involving public order and morality should align with the values of the Indian constitution. Creators must understand the thin line between humour and offence, particularly when they are attempting to create dark comedy.

The commission underscored the importance of these guidelines in fostering a respectful and lawful digital environment and expects all influencers to comply with these directives to promote a safer and more respectful online space.
