Telangana: Tensions Rise at Vibrant Junior College Over Student’s Suicide

Warangal: A tense atmosphere prevailed at a private junior college at Nakkalagutta in Hanamkonda district when the parents and relatives of a 17-year-old Intermediate student, who ended her life in the college hostel room, damaged the furniture of the college and staged a dharna seeking justice on Thursday.

According to the sources, the girl student was studying first-year MPC at Vibrant Junior College by staying in the college hostel. She belonged to Kamalapur village in Mulug district.

During study hours on Wednesday night, she went to her room and committed suicide. Alerted by her classmates, the college management rushed her to a private hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.

After learning about the incident, the angry parents and relatives reached the college and indulged in a heated argument with the college management and damaged furniture and staged a protest along with members of a student organisation, alleging that the student died because of its negligence.

However, the police reached the spot and pacified the protestors before shifting the body to MGM Hospital for postmortem.

The leaders of the student organisation alleged the management was running the college without permission with 400 students and was torturing students in the name of studies.

They demanded justice for the student, immediate seizure of the college and compensation of Rs 50 lakhs to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, police registered a case after a complaint by the parents and started an investigation.
