Kothagudem: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday said the state government was committed to develop temples and showcase Telangana’s spiritual heritage.

He said a celestial wedding ceremony will be organised for Lord Sri Rama and Sita. The event is scheduled to take place at Mithila Stadium in Bhadracham on Sri Ramanavami.

During an inspection with officials, the minister reviewed the arrangements being made for the ceremony. “The state is dedicated to giving equal importance to all religions, to uphold secularism,” he said, emphasising that the event will attract devotees from across various districts.

Minister Srinivas Reddy instructed officials to ensure that adequate barricades, water pockets, and buttermilk distribution points are established for the convenience of the large crowd expected. He also directed that sanitation workers be deployed at the bathing ghats and temple, and first aid centres set up at the venue.

He confirmed that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will attend the celestial wedding and called for stringent security measures for his visit. Additionally, Srinivas Reddy mentioned that the Chief Minister will launch initiatives for the development of land for the Sri Sitarama Chandra Swamy temple, including projects such as mada veedulu and madala veedulu.
