Telangana: Top Maoist leader surrenders

Warangal: A top Maoist leader, Bujagundla Anil alias Kranthi Kiran, on Thursday surrendered before police commissioner Ambar Kishor Jha at police commissionerate in Hanamkonda on Thursday. Anil was suffering from multiple health conditions. Jha said, Anil, 31, a native of Arshanapalli of Nallabelly mandal in Warangal district, had joined the Maoist outfit in 2021 after discontinuing his LLB at a private college in Hyderabad, and worked underground for over two years and nine months in various positions.


He worked under top Maoist leaders late Katukam Sudershan alias Anand, Malloju Venugopal Rao alias Abhay alias Sonu Dada, Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar and Pulluri Prasada Rao alias Chandranna.

Due intense police checks in the borders of Chhattisgarh and Telangana and attracted by the rehabilitation schemes and suffering from neurological issues, back pain and lungs related problems, Anil surrendered before police.

The CP handed over a reward price of Rs 4 lakh and assured him of a total rehabilitation by the state government as per the surrender policy, he added.
