Minister for Irrigation, N Uttam Kumar Redd
Suryapet: Minister for Irrigation, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, announced on Monday that repairs to the breached canals and irrigation tanks in the district would be completed within a week. Accompanied by officials, he inspected the breach at the Nagarjuna Sagar left canal in Kagita Ramachandrapuram, Nadigudem mandal.
Minister Reddy stated that the recent heavy rains had caused several irrigation tanks and canals to breach, resulting in the submergence of crops across 300 acres. He also mentioned that the state cabinet would soon deliberate on providing compensation to farmers affected by the floods and extend support to the families of the two individuals who were washed away in the Kodad floods.
