BRS Members Protest Alleged Procedural Violations, Claim Attack on Congress Corporator
Hyderabad: Congress corporators accused the BRS of playing the ‘woman card’, putting women members in the forefront and resorting to violence. “Without respecting the GHMC council and the chair and proceedings, BRS women corporators resorted to unruly behaviour,” said Bonthu Sridevi, Cherlapally corporators, on Friday.
Borabanda corporator Baba Fasiuddin, who sustained scratches on his arm, said it was the result of aggression of BRS members. “A BRS woman corporator attacked me. The wound has got infected. I have got a medico-legal certificate from the Osmania General Hospital,” Fasiuddin said and added: “Who knows what was in the nails of the corporators? Was it cyanide or something else?”
BRS corporators staged a protest in front of the Mayor's office alleging procedural violations and misconduct during Thursday’s GHMC council meeting. They submitted a complaint addressed to MA&UD principal secretary Dana Kishore and GHMC commissioner K. Ilambarithi.
