TG Asks AP to Handover Buildings in Hyderabad, Merge Five Villages in Khammam with TG

Hyderabad: Contentious bifurcation-related issues between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are learnt to have come up for discussion in the meeting between Chief Ministers A. Revanth Reddy and N. Chandrababu Naidu, according to official sources.

The AP delegation reportedly sought more time to hand over buildings in Hyderabad that were allotted to the AP government in June 2014, sources added.

The TG delegation made it clear that this would not be possible since Hyderabad had ceased to exist as

the joint capital on June 2 this year. The TG delegation reportedly sought handover of buildings in Hyderabad to the TG government at the earliest.

The TG delegation reportedly offered to allot land to the AP government in Hyderabad to construct its own building on the lines of AP Bhavan in Delhi, but refused to allocate any building to AP.

The issue of remerger of five villages of Khammam district with Telangana also came up for discussion. Those villages were merged with AP along with five mandals in 2014. Both the states have decided to write a letter to the Centre seeking its help for remerger of five villages with Telangana.
