Hyderabad: The state government has devised an action plan to fast-track the processing of 2.5 lakh pending Dharani applications within a month. Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) Navin Mittal held a day-long video conference with collectors of all districts and reviewed the status of pending applications on Friday.
The number of applications has mounted as there was no provision in the rules based by the previous BRS government to clear them at the mandal and revenue divisional levels. They had to be dealt with by the collectors.
The collectors, who lost much time during the Lok Sabha elections, either kept those applications
pending or directed them to CCLA office in Hyderabad citing 'work overload.'
Nearly 1 lakh applications were cleared in a 10-day special drive that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had ordered. The process was halted due to election code from March 16 to June 6.
In the three months, the government received another 1 lakh applications, taking the total back to 2.5 lakh.
CCLA Navin Mittal issued strict instructions to district collectors, RDOs and MROs to clear the pending applications by July 15.
He fixed a deadline of 10 days for a few districts with fewer applications and 15 to 20 days in others. For Hyderabad and surrounding districts, where the pendency is huge, a deadline of one month was fixed.
