TG Invites Queensland to Partner in AI City

Minister Sridhar Babu discusses collaboration in AI, life sciences, sports, and skill development with the Queensland delegation.

Hyderabad: IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu has invited the Queensland government to invest in the proposed AI City, emphasising the state’s ambition to redefine the future of artificial intelligence.

A high-powered Queensland delegation, led by finance and trade minister Rosin Bates met Sridhar Babu and discussed strengthening Telangana-Queensland ties and exploring collaboration opportunities across key sectors.

Sridhar Babu provided an in-depth briefing on the upcoming Life Sciences University, envisioned as a global leader in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Given Telangana’s strong presence in these industries, the Queensland delegation expressed keen interest in forming strategic partnerships.

The talks also covered the establishment of Telangana’s Sports University, with the delegation pledging support for future collaborations. They particularly praised Skill University, designed to bridge the workforce-industry gap through tailored programmes aligned with global market demands. Beyond these initiatives, both sides agreed to explore joint efforts in education, research and development, and agriculture.

The delegation included Queensland trade and investment CEO Justin McGowan, Australian consul general (Bengaluru) Hilary McGeachy, consul Andrea Callister, policy research associate Kritika Subramanian and trade commissioner Abhinav Bhatla, among others.
