TG to elevate Veeranari women’s varsity

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Thursday asserted the Telangana government’s commitment to elevating Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University (formerly Koti Women’s College) into one of India’s premier institutions. He announced the state’s readiness to allocate substantial funds for campus development.

Hyderabad:Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Thursday asserted the Telangana government’s commitment to elevating Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University (formerly Koti Women’s College) into one of India’s premier institutions. He announced the state’s readiness to allocate substantial funds for campus development.

Accompanied by senior officials, Bhatti Vikramarka toured the university and reviewed building proposals prepared by the engineering department. Emphasising Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision, he said the government would restore and preserve the campus’s heritage buildings while also constructing new classrooms, laboratories, a library, hostels for students and faculty, an auditorium, a vice-chancellor’s office, and additional administrative blocks.

During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected the recently restored Durbar Mahal heritage structure and viewed paintings of 57 British residents who served in Hyderabad between 1779 and 1947. Visitor manager Satish delivered a presentation on the British Residency’s history. Officials also shared plans for enhancing the university’s gardens and better integrating them into the campus environment.

Bhatti Vikramarka stressed that the new infrastructure should blend modern functionality with enduring historical significance. Principal secretary of education Yogita Rana, technical education commissioner Devasena, Musi Riverfront Development Corporation joint managing director Pujari Gouthami, and other key officials accompanied him.
