TGSPDCL AE and Line Inspector among three held in bribe case in Ghatkesar
Hyderabad: Bal Ram Naik, an Assistant Engineer (AE) (Operations) in Ghatkesar Mandal TGSPDCL, was caught by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complainant through B. Mahesh of Yamnampet. Mahesh was accused number three in the case.
B. Hemanth Naik, a TGSPDCL Line Inspector, who was accused number two, also demanded Rs 5,000 as a bribe from the complainant. Both Ram and Hemanth demanded bribe from the complainant for showing official favour for approval of line clearance (LC) for shifting of 11 KV wire from old pole to new one and line connection and to install side arm to another pole.
The duo performed their duty improperly and dishonestly. The ACB officials recovered the bribe amount from Mahesh. Both hand fingers of Mahesh yielded positive in a chemical test. The officials produced the three accused before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
