TGSPDCL chief wants electricity poles to be cleared of cable wires
Hyderabad: Expressing concern at the dangerously hanging cables of internet and cable TV connections that could be fatal, especially in the rainy season, Musharraf Faruqui, CMD of Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) has urged cable operators and internet service providers to remove materials that are hanging from electric poles. He said that these spell danger to pedestrians, vehicle users and electricity staff in Greater Hyderabad.
Addressing a review meeting here on Wednesday, he said that excess load on electric poles due to cables, cable bundles and telecom equipment, many poles were bending. He added that the scattered cables on footpaths were causing inconvenience to the public. A recent feeder survey revealed that many unused cables and other dangling materials were making it difficult for the staff to work on poles.
The poles, which are on main roads, should be cleared of all extra loads within a week and those in other roads within a fortnight, he said.
