Passenger complains of TGSRTC conductor misbehaviour

Hyderabad: A woman bus passenger alleged that a conductor of TGSRTC express bus misbehaved with her and touched her inappropriately.

In a tweet, “A truly horrifying harassment incident I experienced in public transport. I was travelling from Jadcherla to Hyderabad in a TGSRTC express bus (TS07UG6541) on September 23. The conductor has misbehaved with me. He has touched me inappropriately.”

“Just imagine how many people he might have done this to and got away with it. The fact that a government employee could do this in a public bus with so many passengers in it is sickening. I urge @TGSRTCHQ and @hydcitypolice to look into this,” she said.

Responding to the passenger’s tweet, the Hyderabad City Police said, “Madam, we have kept in notice of Station House Officer (SHO) Afzalgunj, can contact him.”

TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar also responded saying sorry for the inconvenience caused to the passenger. “Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Will definitely look into this and take necessary action,” he said.

Netizens too responded sharply over the conductor’s misbehavior. A netizen Vaddepally Praveen said, “Respected sir, proper investigation is needed. Without it, even the suspension of the RTC employee shouldn't happen. Only after knowing the full story take the action. I hope that is the procedure. Thank you.”

Another netizen Sumanth Tholeti said, “Sir, why can’t the buses have CCTV cameras to verify if any such incidents are reported?”
