The TPCC Media and Communications Chairman Sama Ram Mohan Reddy

Hyderabad: TPCC media and communications chairman Sama Ram Mohan Reddy on Friday alleged that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, during his tenure as IT and industries minister, had entered into MoUs with ‘bogus companies’, which were not in existence on the day the MoU was signed, and had made tall claims of large investments and job creation.

Reddy alleged that the bogus companies had registered themselves a few days after the MoUs were signed. Mohan Reddy challenged Rama Rao that he was ready to debate on the number of MoUs that the previous BRS government had entered into with industries and the investments and employment that had actually materialised in 10 years.

Releasing the purported documents of certificate of registration of companies in question, and news clippings of Rama Rao’s claims during a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy alleged that Rao had, in his capacity as industries minister, entered into an agreement with Bhuvi Biochemicals Private Limited, and Dhatri Bio Silicates Private Limited on June 10, 2022.

Mohan Reddy said that the minister on June 11, 2022, thanked Dhatri Bio and Bhuvi Bio on his Twitter (now X) handle. In reality, Buvi Biochemicals was registered on July 14, 2022, and Dhatri Bio Silicates on July 19, 2022, the Congerss leader said.

“At a time when BRS questioned Congress government’s MoU’s stating that we have entered an agreement with an inexperienced company, it is pertinent to note that BRS and Rama Rao entered into a MoU with a non-existing company,” Reddy said.

He alleged that the BRS government had allocated 80 and 15 acres to these companies in Korutla and Vemulawada, snatching the same from local farmers. He alleged that compensation, relief and rehabilitation for land acquisition for the same has not been issued till date.

Alleging Rama Rao and former minister T. Harish Rao had misled the state with ‘bogus claims, Reddy said that they had blatantly lied in the press conference even on Friday. He said that the then BRS government had done nothing to provide water to Hyderabad and claimed otherwise, thinking that the people would believe them.

“They forgot that people have not trusted them which is why they are in opposition now,” he said.

Stating that the Congress would accept constructive criticism and suggestions, he warned the BRS of legal consequences upon exceeding the limits with regard to levelling allegations against the state government.
