Theft at Deputy CM's House in B-Hills

Hyderabad:A theft was reported at Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s old residence at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. The complaint filed by Bhatti’s personal secretary with the Banjara Hills police on Thursday said that Rs 80,000 cash and silver objects were stolen.

Bhatti currently resides at Praja Bhavan in Begumpet.

There were reports that the Kharagpur Railway Protection Force (RPF) in West Bengal had apprehended two suspects. The Banjara Hills police said they had not received any information about the arrest.

Police said the theft occurred in Bhatti’s house on Road No. 14, Banjara Hills. The place is guarded by a few dogs and a watchman named Roshan Mandal who had been working there for four months. According to the complaint, Bhatti’s personal secretary called Roshan on Thursday morning but there was no response. When the secretary went to the residence, he found the house door unlocked and the cupboards in the bedrooms open.

The complainant stated that Rs 80,000 cash and silver articles went missing and the police registered a case.

Meanwhile, reports said that the Kharagpur RPF during their routine check had arrested Roshan Mandal and another person named Uday Kumar Thakur. They reportedly seized `2.2 lakh cash, 100 grams of gold and foreign currency from their possession.
