Kamareddy: Thieves made away with Rs 17 lakh from an SBI ATM in Pitlam mandal headquarters during the early hours of Sunday. The culprits used gas cutters to break into the machine and steal the cash.
The theft came to light when passersby noticed the vandalised ATM and alerted SBI officials. Upon inspection, bank officials confirmed that Rs 17 lakh in cash was missing.
Based on a complaint filed by the bank, Pitlam police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Special teams have been formed to trace the suspects, and authorities are analysing CCTV footage from the area to identify and apprehend the culprits.
