Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Thorrur police station circle inspector K Jagadish in Mahabubabad district for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant.
In a statement here, the ACB said that it registered a case of criminal misconduct against Jagadish. On January 2, he demanded a bribe of Rs.4 lakh from the complainant to show official favor, specifically to instruct Danthalapalli police station Sub-Inspector not to arrest the complainant in a case and to issue a 35(3) BNSS notice to him apart from ensuring that he is not harassed in the future.
Initially, Jagadish accepted Rs.2 lakh as part of the bribe and demanded the remaining amount. Therefore, Jagadish performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, the statement said. The details of the complainant are not being revealed due to security reasons, it said.
