Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police booked three students for performing stunts in a car, driving recklessly and obstructing traffic at the Jubilee Hills checkpost. on Sunday. The accused in a yellow car (AP09 AQ 7209) circling crossroads, making it difficult for the commuters to drive through.

The trio had fitted modified silencers which emitted a loud sound. Motorists had to wait for over 30 minutes till the police reached the scene and stopped the trio.

The accused were identified as Mohammed Abdul Khader, Md. Anas Ahmeduddin and Mohammed Abdul Rahat.
The case came into light after a video went viral at 7.40 pm on Saturday, according to Jubilee Hills station house officer K. Venkateshwar Reddy. Police booked a suo moto based on a complaint filed by constable P. Karmakar.
"We will not tolerate anybody found performing stunts, driving in a rash manner causing inconvenience to the general public,” police commissioner C.V. Anand told Deccan Chronicle when asked about the trio. “We will seize their vehicle, issue notice to their parents and cancel their driving licences in coordination with the RTA."

SHO Venkateshar Reddy said the police had gone through the CCTV footage, identified the trio through the car registration number and arrested them, he said. “Strict action will be taken against them to ensure such violations do not recur. We have warned them and their parents, and seized the car.”

The driver was booked for public nuisance, an act that harms, inconveniences, or endangering lives, driving in a rash and negligent manner, and the other occupants for being abettors.

Police urge motorists to refrain from engaging in reckless driving and performing dangerous stunts on public roads.

Police asked motorists to report reckless driving incidents to the police via Dial 100 or through the HawkEye mobile app.

Parents and guardians urged to counsel young drivers on responsible road behaviour.
