Hyderabad To Suffer Cocktail Of Heat, Wind, Rain
Orange alerts issued for several districts; strong winds and night showers expected in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: With the summer heat building across Telangana, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the state would also see thunderstorms, gusty winds, and possible hail over the next few days.
According to the IMD’s national bulletin, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, with thunderstorms, lightning, and winds of 30-50 kmph, is likely over Telangana between March 30 and April 3. The department has also pointed to isolated hailstorm activity over Telangana on Tuesday, indicating unstable weather conditions.
The IMD also said that during the hot season of April, May and June, above-normal minimum temperatures are likely over most parts of the country except some regions of Maharashtra and Telangana, where normal to below normal minimum temperatures are likely.
For the next week, the forecast for Hyderabad translates into hot daytime conditions followed by sudden evening changes, including short bursts of rain, lightning, and strong winds. These spells may bring temporary relief but are not expected to reduce overall heat levels.
The IMD has stated that there will be no significant change in maximum temperatures over south India, including Telangana, in the immediate period. This means that despite rain activity, summer heat will continue to prevail.
The current weather pattern is linked to multiple systems, including wind discontinuities and troughs running across central and peninsular India, which are creating instability in the atmosphere. Instead of steady rain, this is leading to short, localised thunderstorms.
Forecast charts for the week show isolated rainfall activity continuing over Telangana on most days rather than widespread rain.
The IMD has also warned of possible impacts during these events, including falling tree branches, damage to power lines, and disruption due to strong winds and lightning, advising people to remain cautious and avoid open areas during storms.
Overall, Telangana and Hyderabad are likely to see a mixed pattern of heat, wind, and brief rain spells over the next few days before conditions turn drier and hotter as the summer season sets in more firmly.
