Hyderabad: The state will celebrate the 10th Telangana Formation Day at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad and Tank Bund under a thick security blanket following intelligence inputs on possible protests by miscreants.
Police officers have reviewed security, traffic and other issues with the general administration officials and directed them to take precautionary measures to prevent untoward incidents.
It was reported that the intelligence officials, who tracked the social media content, allegedly obtained leads that some miscreants planned to raise slogans against the government’s plans to change the state emblem and remodel the Telangana Talli statue during the Formation Day celebrations.
Keeping in mind incidents of protests at Charminar and other places, the Intelligence officials asked the police to be vigilant at the venue of the celebrations. The police were also instructed to keep a close watch on visitors entering the Parade Ground on June 2.
The task force, law and order, and forces from battalions would be placed for security apart from the traffic regulation at the Parade Grounds. As a regular check, dog squads and anti-sabotage teams have also checked the premises thoroughly. The senior police officials would also verify the premises on Saturday.
