Tight Security for Shivaratri Jatara at Vemulawada

Karimnagar: Government Chief Whip and MLA Aadi Srinivas, along with district collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, directed officials to implement stringent measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the Maha Shivaratri Jatara at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple. The coordination meeting took place at the temple premises on Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, MLA Srinivas announced that the three-day Jatara is scheduled from February 25 to 27 at the Rajanna temple, often referred to as Dakshina Kashi. This year, the festival is expected to attract approximately four lakh devotees.

Srinivas instructed the deployment of extra sanitation staff from neighbouring municipalities, dividing them into zones to ensure the temple is cleaned every 15 minutes.

For VIP attendees, Srinivas recommended establishing a special line to facilitate their darshan. He also called for the deployment of expert swimmers at Dharmagundam to manage water quality by ensuring regular changes. Further, arrangements should be made to provide devotees with a quick and efficient darshan of the presiding deities.

Srinivas also ordered the deployment of additional police forces to boost security. Given the anticipated high volume of visitors, he advised officials to coordinate with telecom operators to set up temporary mobile towers, preventing any signal issues during the event.

Addressing transportation needs, Srinivas directed the RTC department to increase bus services. Depot managers are to regularly assess crowd density and run additional buses on necessary routes.

District collector Sandeep Kumar Jha emphasised the importance of inter-departmental coordination, instructing officials from various departments to bridge any gaps and ensure the Jatara is organised smoothly.
