TJAC Formed to Stand for Employees: Latchi Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana Employees JAC chairman V. Lachi Reddy said that he would take to the attention of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the issues faced by seed certification officers and strive for their early resolution. He welcomed their joining the JAC and promised support.
Lachi Reddy was speaking at a meeting of seed certification officers from Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nizamabad and Gadwal divisions. Permanent, contract and outsourcing employees attended the meeting.
Though the seed certification organisation is small, it plays a pivotal role in ensuring quality seeds to the agriculture sector. Welfare of employees is the main aim of the JAC, Latchi Reddy said. We will try to secure a special status to the organisation as a separate department as in Tamil Nadu, said Tirupati Nayak, general secretary, Agri Doctors Association.
The seed certification employees chose a committee to represent them in the next three years. The meeting discussed an increase of employees' pension to Rs.30,000, recognizing outsourcing employees as contract employees, increase in salary of field assistants to Rs.32,000 in line with the package of village extension officers. They also asked for a new insurance policy to provide job security to them, he said.
Those who participated in the meeting include P. Mahesh, general secretary, Telangana Seed Certification Officers Association, T. Jaya Prakash, president and V. Prithviraj, treasurer of the association.
