Toll Plaza Fare Revised, Come in Force From Monday
Hyderabad: The journey on National Highways has turned out to be costlier. A day after the Lok Sabha elections were over, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) issued circulars enhancing the toll plaza fare from three per cent to five per cent.
Telangana has at least 26 toll plazas on National Highways passing through the state including borders of neighbouring states. At all toll plazas, the increased fare would come into effect from Monday, June 3. The staff at toll plazas were asked to display revised fares on every toll plaza for the convenience of transporters and vehicle riders.
According to officials, there would be a difference in fare at every toll plaza. Based on the distance between toll plazas, the staff will collect fares from vehicle riders. In Telangana, the revised fare would come into force at Gouraram toll plaza, Bhiknoor, Gudur, Kadthal, and Kothagudem among others.
However, there is no clarity on the fares to be collected at the Outer Ring Road (ORR) as the officials said that they would collect fares based on regular fares which increase every year. In 2024, the revised fare will be announced by the managing authority. In ORR, a total of 19 toll plazas are located at different places.
