Khammam: The sub-inspector of Ashwaraopet, Sriramula Srinivasu, attempted suicide at Mahbubabad allegedly because of harassment by some of his colleagues in his police station.
After trying to end his life by suicide near the agricultural market of Mahbubabad, he dialled 108 at 11 pm on Sunday night about his suicide bid. DSP Thirupathi Rao rushed to the place and shifted Srinivasu to the government hospital. As his condition turned critical, the SI was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad.
His family members said that Srinivasu had left home at 10 am on Sunday and did not return. He had told the family that five persons working in his police station have been harassing him for the last couple of months. Srinivasu has already complained to the higher officials against them and sought transfer to another police station.
