Traffic diversions imposed for devotees visiting Khairatabad Ganesh idol
Hyderabad: The city police issued a traffic advisory informing traffic diversions for the devotees visiting towering Khairatabad Ganesh idol from September 7 to 17, according to Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) P Viswa Prasad.
The following traffic diversions will be imposed on need basis from 11 am till late in the night, depending on the rush and flow of visitors. The general traffic coming from VV Statue towards Mint Compound via Rajeev Gandhi Statue will not be allowed and diverted at Rajeev Gandhi Statue towards Nirankari junction.
Motorists coming from Old Saifabad police station towards Khairatabad via. Rajdoot lane will not be allowed and diverted at Rajdoot lane towards Iqbal Minar. Traffic coming from Iqbal Minar towards Mint Compound lane will not be allowed and diverted at Mint Compound lane entrance towards Telugu Thalli junction.
Vehicles traffic coming from NTR Marg, Khairatabad Flyover and Necklace Road towards Mint Compound will not be allowed and diverted at Necklace Rotary towards Telugu Thalli junction or Khairatabad flyover. Motorists coming from Nirankari via Khairatabad post office lane towards Khairatabad railway gate will not be allowed and diverted at the post office towards Old Saifabad police station junction.
As a large number of devotees are expected especially during weekends and other public holidays, traffic congestion is expected at the following junctions - Khairatabad, Shadan College, Nirankari, Old Saifabad police station, Mint Compound, and Necklace Rotary. The commuters are requested to avoid these routes.
Parking Places
Visitors approaching towards Khairatabad Ganeshdarshan through Necklace Rotary and NTR Garden should park their vehicles at Ambedkar square parking place beside IMAX theatre, NTR Garden parking places, opposite IMAX, Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High School premises and Race course road parking place.
Visitors coming on their own vehicles for darshan must come through Necklace Road, Imax Rotary and avoid Khairatabad Rajiv Gandhi Statue Road, and Rajdoot lane road.
The traffic police imposed the above restrictions depending on the number of devotees coming to have darshan of Khairatabad Ganesh.
The devotees are requested to park their vehicles at the designated parking places only in an orderly fashion and the commuters are requested to take alternative routes to reach their destinations to avoid delays on account of traffic congestion.
