Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) has issued a advisory for passengers travelling from the Secunderabad station in view of the ongoing development work, that includes demolition of the main building, and running of special trains for the Kumbh Mela.
SCR said the priority was on crowd control and that it was implementing several measures to effectively manage the entry and exit of passengers. The platforms are being announced well in advance, so that passengerscould reach in time.
Adequate signage/direction boards have been put up at entry-exit points, on platforms and on foot-over-bridges for smooth flow of passengers.
Sufficient number of ticket-checking staff will be deployed for crowd management. Commercial inspectors will be on-duty at all hours and will rectify failure of equipment and take prompt action if any untoward incidents occur.
Commercial officers are nominated to monitor crowds during peak hours, in addition to monitoring of Kumbh Mela special trains.
