Hyderabad: The Nampally criminal court on Friday sentenced Sailu, a flower seller, to death for murdering his wife Aarti, their 10-month-old child and another man, Nagaraju, in Narayanguda in 2022.
Police said Sailu and Aarti used to sell flowers under the Narayanguda flyover, but used to quarrel often. Aarti began staying separately and Sailu discovered that she was in a relationship with Nagaraju.
Enraged at this, Sailu and his friend Rahul poured petrol over Aarti and Nagaraju and set them on fire. Their 10-month old child was severely injured in the attack, and all three died in the hospital.
Aarti’s mother lodged a police complaint in 2022, leading to Sailu’s arrest. After extensive investigation and legal proceedings, the court sentenced Sailu to death. His friend Rahul, who helped him, received life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000.
