TSLSA offers help to litigants to settle cases at SC
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) has asked litigants whose cases are pending before the Supreme court to use its services.
The State Legal Service Authority is making arrangements to assist the litigants to get amicable settlement of their pending cases before the apex court in the special Lok Adalat to be held by the Supreme Court Legal Services Authority from July 29 to August 3.
TSLSA member secretary Ch Panchakshari on Wednesday said that the Supreme Court had identified 295 cases from Telangana state pending before it for adjudication in which parties concerned could have arrived at a settlement through compromise. These matters belonged to disputes of
different issues including civil, criminal and maintenance.
The member secretary said the TSLSA was asked by the Supreme court to assist concerned parties to settle their cases. "Notices are being issued to parties in 295 cases. We are trying to reach out to them. In three cases, we have already spoken with the parties in three cases," said the member secretary. Further, he said interested persons can contact the TSLSA on landline telephone no 040 23446723 between 10.30am and 5 pm. If the litigants want to make use of the special Lok Adalat, they can approach the concerned district legal services authorities.
The member secretary also said that the parties may give their consent along with details of the case to refer to Special Lok Adalat. The advocates may also give details of suitable cases pending before the Supreme Court and for referring to the Special Lok Adalat for settlement.
