TSPSC Candidates Seek Postponement of Group 1 Mains Exam

Hyderabad: A group of candidates has formally asked the Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to postpone the Group 1 Mains, scheduled to be held from October 21 to October 27, until all ongoing legal cases related to the selection process are resolved.

The aspirants' concerns revolve around the pending court cases concerning the provisions of GO 29 versus those of GO 55, reservations for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and economically weaker sections (EWS) communities, and errors in the preliminary examination key, all of which are currently under judicial review.

The candidates said that the uncertainty surrounding these legal disputes had created significant anxiety and stress, making it difficult for them to focus on their preparation. "We have attempted the Group 1 prelims thrice, costing us three years of our lives," said one of the aspirants. "If any of these cases lead to changes in the prelims results after the Mains exam, we could be forced to write the Mains again, as has happened in previous years."

"We sincerely urge the commission to resolve all pending court cases before proceeding with the Mains exam. This will allow us to prepare without the cloud of uncertainty hanging over our heads," the aspirants stated in their letter addressed to M. Mahender Reddy, chairman of TSPSC.

The letter also touched upon the emotional and psychological toll that the prolonged examination process had taken on the candidates.
