Tummala warns fertiliser dealers against hoarding
State agriculture minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao said arrangements are being made for supply of fertilizers to mandal centres and villages from the district headquarters in advance. He warned dealers against selling fertilizers in the black market.
The minister reviewed the availability of fertilizers in the state with the agriculture and MARKFED officials. The officials informed the minister that for rabi 2024 season the state needs 9.80 lakh tonnes of urea, 1.10 lakh
tonnes of DAP, seven lakh tonnes of complexes, 0.70 lakh tonnes of MOP, 0.60 lakh tonnes of SSP fertilizers.
The state has at its disposal 3.65 lakh tonnes of urea, 1.10 lakh tonnes of DAP, 3.79 lakh tonnes of complex, 0.24 lakh tonnes of MOP, 0.19 lakh tones of SSP fertilizers.In another meeting with NABCONS (Nabard Consultancy Services), the minister met its vice president Shilpa Deshpande and sought merger of Agri Infra Fund -PMU with the monitoring cell. This will help in devising useful schemes for farmers, he said.
The state agriculture infrastructure fund has received Rs 3,046 crore. With the money the state started 2,246 infrastructure units. Of this 1,450 are agri primary processing units, 785 godowns, 209 custom hiring centres, 101 post harvest facilities. The state has so far spent Rs 3,075 crore and has sought Rs 4,000 crore from the centre for the next financial year, the minister and the agriculture commissioner said.
