Two Detained for Vandalizing Place of Worship in Santoshnagar
Hyderabad: The Santoshnagar police on Tuesday detained two persons, claimed to be mentally challenged, for vandalising a place of worship late on Monday night. Following the incident, locals gathered at the spot and demanded punishment of the culprits.
Senior officials and additional police forces rushed to the spot and pacified the protesters with promises of stern action.
Police went through CCTV camares footage and identified the miscreants, sources said. Santoshnagar DCP Kanti Lal Patil said the situation was under control and the police had registered a case.
The suspects’ mother claimed they were mentally unsound and undergoing treatment in a government hospital. Santoshnagar police were verifying the claim.
Excise Task Force Arrests Two, Seizes Over 1 kg Ganja
Hyderabad: The excise task force along with the Dhool excise station and enforcement arrested two persons and seized 1.215 kg ganja that was in their possession. The arrest followed a raid on the house of Dinesh Singh of Machipura. His associate Sopan Rao, a supplier, is at large. Police arrested other peddler, Md Shoaib, from his house in Chandrayangutta on Tuesday evening.
The raids were led by N. Anji Reddy excise superintendent, on the instructions of the director of enforcement prohibition and excise V.B. Kamalasan Reddy and S.Y. Qureshi, joint commissioner enforcement.
