Two Imposters Posing as ACB Officials Arrested

Hyderabad: Two imposters, who posed as ACB officials and were extorting money from shopowners in Shivarampally were arrested by Attapur police on Thursday. Police seized five forged ACB identity cards from the accused, S.M. Mujahid of P & T Colony, Suncity and Mohd. Abdul Raheem from Bandlaguda.

On August 26 told a grocery store owner in Prashanthnagar, Shivarampally, that they had information of his and his brother’s illegal activities and demanded `10,000 for not booking them in a case. When the accused threatened to post the video and photos on social media, he paid them `3,000. The accused on Wednesday repeatedly called the complainant for the remaining `7,000.

Based on a complaint lodged by the shopowner the accused were identified through CCTV footage and their GPS mobile location.

Notorious pickpocket arrested

Hyderabad: Karkhana police crime teams arrested man and recovered a 10-gram gold chain that he had allegedly snatching during the Bonalu festivities at the Mahankali temple on August 12. The accused Mohammed Jahnageer was identified through the CCTV footage, police said. Jahangeer, a painter from Mallappally, was earlier arrested for seven theft and pickpocket cases by the city police.

Special teams of Karkhana police are making efforts to arrest his associates, Mohammed Ameer alias Shaik Ameer, Md Shafi and a 15-year-old suspect, who are also wanted for several theft cases in Abids, Begum Bazar, Pet Basheerabad and SR Nagar, according to north zone DCP Sadhana Rashmi Perumal.

Woman stabbed to death by paramour

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman was stabbed 41 times by her lover, who later attempted to die by suicide. He is currently undergoing treatment near Gopanpally thanda, Serilingampally mandal, Gachibowli police said.

According to Gachibowli CI Anjaneyulu, the deceased has been identified as Deepna Aman, 26, and the accused Rakesh. The two have been in a relationship for three years.

“The deceased was married and had a son. She was not living with her husband due to personal issues. After three years of their relationship, Deepna tried to distance herself from Rakesh,” he said.

Rakesh suspected that Deepna had another affair or had returned to her husband. At 11.30 on Thursday, Rakesh called Deepna, who lived in a PG with her friends, downstairs to talk. When the argument escalated, Rakesh pulled out a knife and stabbed her 41 times, according to Madhapur DCP Dr Vineeth G.

Her friends, who saw Rakesh fleeing from the scene, rushed her to a hospital, where she succumbed.

“He had sent a picture of himself and a message to all his friends on WhatsApp saying he had murdered the girl and he would die by suicide. His friends informed the police, who later reached the spot and shifted him to a hospital, where is undergoing treatment for burn injuries on his body,” the Gachibowli CI said.

A case was registered under Section 103 (1), 109 of BNS at the Gachibowli police station.
