CM Revanth Advises Uber To Set Up Multi-Level Parking, EV Hubs

CM Revanth Reddy advised the Uber representatives to focus on setting up multi-level parking facilities. The CM also pointed out inadequate parking infrastructure near Metro Rail stations was causing numerous problems.

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy advised Uber to take up the challenge of easing parking congestion in Hyderabad and other major cities. He suggested the company establish multi‑level parking facilities and EV charging stations at designated sites.

Uber chief executive officer Dara Khosrowshahi, who led a delegation to the CM’s Jubilee Hills residence on Wednesday, briefed him on the company’s operations in Telangana. He announced the expansion of Uber’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad — the first of its kind outside the United States — which currently employs 600 engineers. He also expressed interest in setting up an Uber corporate office in Bharat Future City.

The Chief Minister emphasised that inadequate parking infrastructure, particularly near Hyderabad Metro Rail stations, was creating serious difficulties. He advised Uber to prioritise multi‑level parking solutions. In response, the delegation assured that a study would be undertaken on integrating parking facilities with EV charging centres.

Revanth Reddy explained that Bharat Future City, spread across 30,000 acres near Hyderabad, is being developed to host 500 global companies. Located 25 km from Shamshabad Airport, the site attracted investment proposals from over 100 firms during a Global Summit last December.

Khosrowshahi reiterated Uber’s interest in establishing a corporate office in the Future City. The meeting was attended by Uber chief business officer Madhu Kannan, Uber India & South Asia president Prabhjeet Singh, Chief technology officer Praveen Nippalli Naga, and the CM’s special secretary Ajith Reddy.
