Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Says 26 Telangana MLAs in Touch With BJP
Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar said there are 26 MLAs from Congress and BRS in Telangana who want to join the BJP.
“But BJP is not like BRS and Congress. All MLAs and public representatives of other parties who wish to join BJP must quit their posts and only then join the BJP,” he emphasised at a press conference in Karimnagar on Sunday.
He ruled out enrolling BJP leaders who are being probed by the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation. “BJP does not encourage corruption and corrupt leaders,” he underlined.
Speaking about the meeting between the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Bandi Sanjay said former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had intentionally delayed resolution of various issues between the two states under the bifurcation act to get political mileage.
He maintained that if the Chief Ministers of both AP and Telangana have the commitment, there is a possibility to find solutions for all issues between the two states.
The union minister said there is a possibility of developing the Ellanthakunta and Kondagattu temples as Ramayana Circuit, along with the Vemulawada Temple in the PRASAD scheme. He said he would take the initiative if the state government sends proposals in this regard.
Bandi Sanjay said the time limit for completing the Smart City project in Telangana has not been increased because no request for the same has been made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The BJP-led central government increased the time limit for Smart City projects in states like Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, as those states requested the same, he added.
