Union Ministers Must Push for CBI Probe on Kaleshwaram, Says Bhongir MP

Hyderabad: Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy urged Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar to take the initiative and expedite the CBI investigation into this ‘Kaleshwaram scam’. He expressed confidence that all irregularities would come to light once the final verdict regarding the Kaleshwaram project is delivered.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that in the wake of the High Court ruling, the responsibility of BJP leaders has increased significantly. He emphasised that a CBI inquiry into the corruption, negligence by the previous government, and abuse of power involved in the construction of the Kaleshwaram project would uncover the facts. He recalled that the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) had clearly indicated the occurrence of numerous irregularities in this project even before the submission of the PC Ghosh Commission report.

The Bhongir MP observed that action has already been initiated against officials who constructed the project without adhering to proper safety standards, and asserted that the people of Telangana deserve to know the complete truth regarding the Kaleshwaram issue. He demanded that both the Central and State governments take strict action against the looting that occurred during the tenure of the previous government and ensure that those responsible are punished.
