US Consul General Congratulates AWE Graduates in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad:The US Consulate General in Hyderabad celebrated the success of women entrepreneurs from AP and Telangana who completed the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) programme on Friday, at the St Francis College for Women, Begumpet. The programme, a partnership with the Alliance for Commercialisation and Innovation Research (ACIR), aims to empower women with business skills like strategic planning, marketing, and financial management.

US Consul General Jennifer Larson, congratulating the graduates, and emphasised on the potential of women's entrepreneurial leadership in the two states. “Supporting women’s entrepreneurship and the role of women as leaders in India’s formal economy is one of the US government’s top priorities. The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs advances our shared goal with India to empower women with the resources, connections, and skills they need to succeed,” she claimed.

Around 60 women from the Telugu states participated in the six-month programme, which combined online learning with in-person sessions, mentoring, and interactions with local business leaders and US experts, as well as Indian alumni of US government-supported exchange programmes.
