Suryapet: Vehicle movement was allowed on National Highway No. 65, which connects Hyderabad and Vijayawada, from Monday afternoon. Police had halted the vehicle movement on this highway on Saturday night as heavy rain had damaged a bridge at Gudapuru on Sunday.
The new bridge at Gudapuru is used by traffic from Vijayawada and Hyderabad and the old bridge is used by vehicles coming to the city,.
On Saturday night, the National Highways Authority of India directed the police not to allow vehicles on the old old bridge which sustained damaged. On Monday, the police first allowed vehicles on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route and later on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad route.
